The town existed long ago during the time of the Thracians. Twelve Thracian tombs were discovered in the area of Kazanluk. The tour includes visitation to the most significant of them – the Kazanluk tomb, which is located near the ancient capital of the Odrisi tribe – Sevtopolis. The tomb is interesting with its frescoes that are some of the best preserved examples of the ancient art. The access to the original tomb is restricted but there is an exact copy, made for tourists in order to conserve the frescoes. The Historical museum in the town will give you a good idea of the history of the region during the centuries. Here you can also see the one and only Museum of the rose, where the whole process from cultivating the roses to the production of rose oil is traced. Another interesting monument that will be introduced to you during the tour is the temple “The Nativity” in Shipka. The church is attractive for tourist with its glorious outlook and its 17 bells.
