In this 7-days trip we explore the most interesting remians of Bulgaria - the ancient thracian tombs and their gold treasure. We visit the thracian tombs in Starosel, Kazanluk and the valey of the Thracian kings. The visit of the cities of Veliko Tarnovo, Arbanassi, Plovdiv and Troyan is inlcuded as well.
Program
1st day. Arrival in Sofia. Sightseeing tour of Sofia - the capital of Bulgaria. Places of interest - the biggest orthodox cathedral on the Balkan peninsula "Alexander Nevski", Roman Ruins of Serdica 3 C., the Saint George Rotunda Church 4 C., the Saint Sofia Basilica Church 5 C., the small so called Russian church, the National theatre "Ivan Vazov", national gallery of fine arts (former royal palace), the Parliament, Sofia University, etc. Lunch. Visit of the National Museum of History and Boyana church, included in the list of UNESCO. Dinner. Overnight
2nd day. 9.00 Sightseeing tour of Sofia, including the St. Alexandre Nevski cathedral-the biggest on the Balkan peninsula. Lunch. In the afternoon-visit of the National History museum. Dinner. Overnight.
3rd day. 9.00 Departure for Plovdiv-the second largest city of Bulgaria. Sightseeing tour, including the old city complex. Lunch in a local restaurant. In the afternoon-visit of the impressive Thracian necropolis of Starosel (35km), excavated 7 years ago. Back to Plovdiv. Accommodation in hotel 4****. Dinner. Overnight.
4th day. 9.00 Departure for Kazanluk-the valley of the Thracian kings. Sightseeing of the town, visit of several ancient Thracian necropolis. Lunch. In the afternoon-visit of a big church complex dedicated to the liberation of Bulgaria-Shipka. Accommodation in Kazanluk in a 4**** hotel. Dinner. Overnight.
5th day. 9.00 Departure for Veliko Turnovo. Sightseeing tour of the town-visit of the main royal palace and fortress. Lunch. In the afternoon visit of the near-by residence city of Arbanassi. Accommodation in hotel 4*. Dinner. Option-light show at the hill Zarevetz/an unique light and sound show/. Overnight.
6th day. 9.00 Panoramic tour of Veliko Turnovo-the capital of medieval Bulgaria. Visit of art craft shops and original Bulgarian handmade souvenirs. Departure for Troyan monastery. Visit of the monastery and lunch in the area. Proceed to Sofia. Accommodation in hotel 4****. Option-dinner in traditional Bulgarian restaurant with folkore music. Overnight.
7th day. Free time till the flight. Transfer to the airport. End of RAD-FESTA's services.
