Itinerary - Bulgarian nature and countryside tour
Day 1: Sofia
Arrival at Sofia airport. Meet and greet by your personal guide. Check in hotel. After that we will have city tour, including Alexander Nevski Cathedral, the National Theatre, the Archaeological Museum, St.George Church, Boyana Church, Roman ruins and Medieval settlements. Rest of the day is free. Overnight in Sofia.
Day 2: Saeva Dupka cave - Glozhene Monastery - Goliam Izvor
Breakfast. After that we will drive to Saeva Dupka Cave, known as one of the most beautiful caves in Bulgaria. Continue to the village of Glozhene. From here a short trek through beech woods leads us to Glozhene Monastery, with its 1000-year-old icon of St George. From the monastery you will follow the path climbing Mount Lisets which offers stunning views over the Teteven Valley and the Central Balkan range. Continue to Goliam Izvor and overnight in the village.
Day 3: Goliam Izvor – Etropole Monastery – Lopyan
After breakfast we will start our hike to the Mount Orlyak. Transfer to the village of Lopyan for our overnight stay. In the afternoon we will drive to Etropole Monastery and a nearby waterfall. Overnight.
Day 4: Cherni Vit
Breakfast. Today we will have short drive to Cherni Vit village, known for its local kind of green cheese - Cherni Vit cheese. Visit to caves in the region - Bayovitsa cave, in which were found remains of people who lived during the Stone Age and Benkovska Cave.
Day 5: Ribaritsa
After breakfast we will have transfer to Kordela hut. Today’s track passes through century-old beech forests in the Boatin Reserve and continue with the region of Kostina, where the Bulgarian revolutionary and national hero, Georgi Benkovski, was killed by the Ottomans. From there along an asphalt road we will reach to the village of Ribaritsa. Overnight.
Day 6: Ribaritsa
Breakfast. Today we will have a circuit route, along the Debeli Dial ridge surrounding Ribaritsa and climb to its peak for beautiful panorama views of the Central Balkan Mountains. Overnight in Ribaritsa.
Day 7: Teteven
After breakfast, a morning transfer to Teteven. The path is passing through Cherven Peak, where we will have panoramic view over the town of Teteven and the valley of Beli Vit River. From there you take the eco-path leading to Babintsi village and further down to Teteven. Overnight in Teteven.
Day 8: Sofia
After breakfast, transfer to Sofia airport. End of our services.
