Itinerary - Castles and monasteries of Romania Tour

Day 1: Timisoara
Arrival at the Timisoara Airport. Meet and greet by our guide. Private transfer to the hotel, accommodation and overnight.

Day 2: Timisoara
Breakfast. City tour of Timisoara, known as The City of Flowers. Visit of the Victory Square, The Capitoline Wolf Statue, Unirii Square, Orthodox Metropolitan Cathedral, Roman Catholic Dome, Fabric Synagogue, Theresia Bastion, Huniade Castle and Capitoline Wolf Statue. Overnight in Timisoara.

Day 3: Timisoara – Arad – Timisoara 
After breakfast, we will head to Arad where we will have a walking tour, including the Neo-Gothic Palace of Culture, the City Hall Palace, the Red Church, Victory Square, The Capitoline Wolf Statue, Unirii Square, Orthodox Metropolitan Cathedral and Roman Catholic Dome. Free time for shopping. Overnight back in Timisoara. 

Day 4: Timisoara – The Corvini Castle – Alba Iulia – Sibiu
Breakfast. Today we will visit one of the most famous gothic castles in Eastern Europe, Hunyadi Castle. The next stop will be in Alba Iulia, where we will visit the largest medieval fortress in Romania. Our last stop for today is Sibiu, the former residence of the governor of Transylvania. City tour including the Tower of the Clock or Council Tower, Brukenthal museum, The big square, the small square and Huet Square, with the Evangelical Cathedral. Overnight in Sibiu.

Day 5: Sibiu – Sighisoara – Targu Mures 
After breakfast, we will visit the Sighisoara. City tour including the Citadel, the historic center, the Tower of the shoemakers and the Church-on-the-Hill. After lunch we will continue to Targu Mures, a city dominated by the beautiful Palace of Culture, an extraordinary baroque palace. Overnight in Targu Mures.

Day 6: Targu Mures – Wooden churches – Marginea – Gura Humorului
Breakfast. Today we visit the monastery of Voronet, founded by the great prince Stephen the Great and characterized by a beautiful blue color. Next, continue with a visit to the Moldovita monastery, founded in the 16th century and the Sucevita monastery, founded by the Movila brothers in the 17th century. Afterwards we will head to Cura Humorului. Overnight in Gura Humorului.

Day 7: Gura Humorului – Piatra Neamt – Bicaz Gorges – Miercurea Ciuc
After breakfast we will have some free time to explore the city. Later, continue with Piatra Neamt, a famous ski resort that preserves a beautiful citadel and Bicaz Gorges for a visit to the typical handicrafts market. After that we will head to Miercurea Ciuc where we will have free evening. Overnight in Miercurea Ciuc. 

Day 8: Miercurea Ciuc – Brasov – Bran – Brasov 
After breakfast we will have city tour including PetÅ‘fi Street, the main pedestrian street, the Mikó Castle, the Orthodox cathedral and the Court House. Later we will head to Brasov. Highlights of the city tour are the Black Church, the Council Square, the Hirsher House, the many old Saxon houses, and the White and Black Towers. Last stop for today is the famous Bran Castle, better known as Dracula’s Castle. Overnight back in Brasov.

Day 9: Brasov – Sinaia – Bucharest
Breakfast. Today we will travel to Prejmer, the largest fortified church in southeastern Europe. Later continue to Sinaia and the Peles Castle, the summer residence of the first king of Romania. After the city tour we will have some free time. Later departure for Bucharest. Overnight. 

Day 10: Bucharest 
Breakfast. Panoramic tour of Bucharest: Free Press Square, Arch of Triumph, Victory Square and Avenue, Royal Palace, Revolution Square. Continue with a visit of the Village Museum, one of the most impressive open-air museums in Europe and the Palace of Parliament. Next, you will have free time in the Old Town. Overnight. 

Day 11: Bucharest
Departure after breakfast. Free time. Transfer to the airport. End of our services.
