Itinerary - Classical Bulgaria Tour

 
Day 01: Sofia 
Arrival at Sofia airport. Meet and greet by your local guide. Transfer to hotel and accommodation. Sightseeing tour of Sofia - the capital of Bulgaria. Visit of Alexander Nevsky cathedral and Boyana church (UNESCO). Free time for shopping and wandering in center of Sofia. Back to hotel. Overnight.
 
Day 2: Sofia - Rila Monastery - Sofia 
After breakfast, we depart to Rila monastery (120 km from Sofia) - the biggest monastery in Bulgaria, included in the list of UNESCO. Visit of the church of the monastery and an authentic monk room (cell). Lunch in the area of the monastery. Back to Sofia. Overnight.

Day 3: Sofia - Plovdiv 
Today we leave Sofia and proceed with Plovdiv – the second biggest city in Bulgaria. City tour, including visit of Old town and Roman theatre. In the afternoon - visit of the impressive Bachkovo monastery (35 km from Plovdiv), the second biggest monastery in Bulgaria. Back to Plovdiv. Accommodation in hotel and overnight.

Day 4 : Plovdiv - Kazanluk 
Proceed to Kazanluk - the valley of the roses. Sightseeing tour of the city, visiting the house of the roses, an unique Thracian tomb and the Shipka monastery complex dedicated to the liberators of Bulgaria. Whole day exploring the Rose valley and and visit of an old authentic distilery factory. Accommodation in hotel and overnight in Kazanluk.

Day 5: Kazanluk - Veliko Turnovo  
After breakfast we will continue to Veliko Turnovo - the capital of medieval Bulgaria. Sightseeing tour of the city - visit of Zarevets royal palace and fortress. In the afternoon half-day excursion to Arbanassi (4 km from Veliko Turnovo) - beautiful small village with traditional Bulgarian houses and churches from Medieval times. Back to Veliko Turnovo. Free time for shopping in the Samovodksa Charshia Street where you can find a diversity of art craft and handmade souvenirs. Overnight.

Day 6: Veliko Turnovo - Tryavna - Veliko Turnovo  
After breakfast visit of one of the most impressive monasteries in the area of Veliko Tarnovo - The monastery of Transfiguration. We will visit also the ancient Kilifarevo monastery and city of Tryavna, situted in the heart of Balkan mountains. Late in the afternoon - back in Veliko Tarnovo. Overnight.

Day 7: Velio Turnovo - Troyan Monastery - Sofia 
Departure to Sofia via Troyan Monastery - impressive medieval monastery, situated in the foot of the Balkans. We visit the old church, painted outside as well. Lunch in the area of the monastery. Proceed to Sofia. Arrive in Sofia late in the afternoon. Accommodation in hotel. Free time. Option - dinner in traditional Bulgarian restaurant with folklore program. Overnight.

Day 8: Sofia departure 
Free time in Sofia till transfer to airport. End of our services.
