Itinerary - Explore Bulgarian Nature: Caves and panorama views


Day 1: Sofia – Plovdiv
Arrival at Sofia airport. Meet and greet by your personal guide. Transfer to Plovdiv and hotel check-in. Then we will have city tour or free time to head on your own to Plovdiv.

Day 2: Plovdiv – Bachkovo Monastery – Asenovgrad
Breakfast. In the morning we will visit the Kapana art quarter, famous for its art ateliers, craft shops and cafeterias. Heading south straight to Rhodope Mountains. The first for today is Assenova Fortress – medieval fortress from the 10th century. The second one is Bachkovo Monastery – the second biggest monastery in Bulgaria. Overnight in Asenovgrad.

Day 3: Asenovgrad – Karadzhov Rock - Belintash – Kosovo Village
Breakfast. This day starts with a hike up to the Karadzhov Rock, located across the valley from Belintash, which we will visit later. After that we follow the mountain ridge from there to the Krastova Gora Monastery – a monastery popular among the local population. Afterwards we continue with a walk to Kosovo village and overnight.

Day 4: Kosovo village – Gela
Breakfast. Today we will have a hike on our way to the next charming village, Gela. We will visit The Wonderful Bridges, a rock-phenomenon sculpted by a river and hidden in the pine woods. In the afternoon we will arrive in Gela village, known as the birthplace of Orpheus. Overnight.

Day 5: Gela - Waterfalls Canyon – Gela
Breakfast. Today we will have a 3-hour walking on a steep path through shadowy forests and wooden bridges over rivers and waterfalls. In the early afternoon we will head back to village of Gela. Free time. Overnight.

Day 6: Gela  – Trigrad  – Yagodina
After breakfast, we will visit Devil’s Throat cave. Its entrance resembles a devil’s head, and down its throat rushes a massive waterfall that from ancient times has captivated imaginations and given birth to numerous legends. Today we will visit also Haramiyska Dupka, a vertical cave which entrance can only be reached after a little climbing. In the afternoon once we reach the village of Yagodina, we will have free time to relax. Overnight.

Day 7: Yagodina – Egle Eye
Breakfast. Today we will have a hike to the panoramic platform Eagle Eye, located near the village. From there we can enjoy the magnificent views of the hills of the Rhodope Mountains and even Rila and Pirin. Overnight.
Optional: Visit to the Yagodina Cave

Day 8: Yagodina village – Goliam Beglik dam
Breakfast. After two hours of driving we will reach the high mountain dam Goliam Beglik, where we will make a short exploration of the dam with kayaks. The overnight will be in Batak.

Day 9: Batak – Kovachevitsa village
Breakfast. Depart fot Kovachevitsa, a small village with traditional Bulgarian mountain architecture. Explore the village. Free time. Overnight.

Day 10: Kovachevitsa – Seven Rila lakes – Sofia
After breakfast we will have a hike to Seven Rila Lakes. After that continue back to Sofia. Overnight.

Day 11: Sofia
Breakfast. Transfer to the airport. End of our services.
