Itinerary - Highlights of Macedonia
Day 1: Skopje
Arrival at Skopje airport. Meet and greet by your tour guide. Transfer to your hotel and check-in. A half-day sightseeing tour of Skopje with a local guide – a visit to the old railway station, the statue of Mother Teresa, the Stone Bridge, the Daut Pasha Baths National Gallery, The church of St. Spas, the Fortress Kale. Overnight stay in Skopje.
Day 2: Skopje
After breakfast we’ll have a full-day visit to Lake Matka and the Monastery Church of St. Andrew. Then a visit to Vodno and the Monastery Church of St Pantelejmon in the village of Gorno Nerezi, which was built in the 12th century and represents an important monument from the Byzantine period. Overnight stay in Skopje.
Day 3: Mavrovo - Ohrid
Departure for Mavrovo National Park. Check-in hotel and a tour in the National park. Overnight stay.
Day 4: Ohrid
Departure for Ohrid. We’ll make a stop in Monastery of St. Jovan Bigorski. Afterwards what follows is a short break in Vevchani to see a famous Vevchani springs. Overnight stay in Ohrid.
Day 5: Ohrid
After breakfast, we’ll have a half-day tour of Ohrid - the statue of Ss. Cyril and Methodius, the National Museum of Ohrid, the Church of St Sophia, the Roman amphitheatre, the Upper gate, St Clements’s Church, The Icon Gallery, Tsar Samoil’s fortress, Plaoshnik and Ohrid’s marketplace. Overnight in Ohrid.
Day 6: Ohrid
In the morning we’ll have a visit to the Monastery of St Naum. A walk to the source of the River Crn Drim which feeds the lake. Free time. Overnight in Ohrid.
Day 7: Bitola
After breakfast departure for Bitola and the ancient Macedonian town of Heraclea Lyncestis, which is located 5km far from. Back in Skopje.
Day 8: Skopje
Breakfast. Transfer to the airport. End of our services.
