Itinerary - Cultural Heritage in the Balkans Tour

 
Day 1: Sofia
Arrival at Sofia airport. Meet and greet by your tour guide. Transfer to your hotel and check-in. Walking sightseeing tour of the centre of the Bulgarian capital. Overnight in Sofia.
 
Day 2: Boyana Church - Rila monastery - Melnik
After breakfast, we continue to the town of Melnik. En route we first visit the Boyana Church - a small mediaeval orthodox church listed as a world UNESCO cultural heritage site. The other UNESCO world heritage site we‘ll visit today is the Rila monastery. After lunch, we transfer to the smallest town in Bulgaria - Melnik, famous with its wine. Overnight in Melnik.
 
Day 3: Smolare - Tikvesh
Breakfast. This morning we’ll cross the border with Northern Macedonia via the Novo Selo. Our first stop will be the Smolare waterfall. From there, we’ll visit the nearby village of Smolare. In the afternoon, we transfer to the famous wine region of Tikvesh. En route, we’ll stop at the famous archaeological site of Stobi. Overnight in Tikvesh area.  
 
Day 4: Bitola
After breakfast, we head towards the city of Bitola. Our first stop is the ancient town and archaeological site of Heraclea Lyncestis. After checking into hotel, we’ll a sightseeing walk of the centre of Bitola, which will include the famous street of Shirok Sokak and the Stara Carsija (Old Bazaar). Overnight in Bitola.
 
Day 5: Pelister National Park - Ohrid
After breakfast, we transfer to the Pelister National Park to walk 'The Path of the First World War'. In the afternoon we’ll heat to Ohrid, we’ll have a short en route stop at a viewpoint where we can see both the Ohrid and Prespa lakes. Overnight in Ohrid.
 
Day 6: Ohrid
This morning after breakfast, we‘ll have walking sightseeing tour of some of the sites in Ohrid including the church of St. Sofia, King Samuil's Fortress and the Amphitheatre. Free time in the afternoon. Overnight in Ohrid.
 
Day 7: Tetovo - Varvara - Prizren
After breakfast, we‘ll transfer from Ohrid to Prizren in Kosovo. En route we stop at the Painted Mosque of Tetovo. From here we’ll head to the nearby village of Varvara. We will arrive in Prizren mid afternoon, where we’ll have tour of the city including the Kalaja (Fortress), the Sinan Pasha Mosque, the Gazi Mehmet Pasha Hammam. Overnigth in Prizren. 
 
Day 8: Skopije
After breakfast, we transfer to the Macedonian capital, Skopje. Our first stop is at the Monastery of Gracanica, a UNESCO world heritage site. We’ll arrive in Skopje in the late afternoon and have a short walking sightseeing tour of the new and old centre of Skopje including the Old Bazaar and the Stone Bridge.
Overnight in Skopije.
 
Day 9: Skopje - Sofia
Breakfast. Free morning in Skopje, before we head back to Sofia. Overnight in Sofia.
 
Day 10: Sofia departure
Departure after breakfast. Transfer to the Sofia airport. End of our services.
