Every year on the 7th of September piligrims from come and pray to the icon and sometimes spent the night in the monastery, believing that brings well-being. Near the monastery is the grave of a famous Bulgarian revolutionary – Yane Sandanski. The smallest Bulgarian town Melnik is located in the South-Western part of the country. It is in the foothills of the Pirin mountain. You will have the opportunity to visit the historical museum and get an idea of the life in the town and the manners of the local people.
