Itinerary - Treasures of Slovenia Tour
Day 1: Ljubljana arrival
Arrival in Ljubljana airport. Meet and greet by your guide. Transfer to the hotel and accommodation. Orientation walk and free evening. Overnight.
Day 2: Ljubljana
After breakfast, we will have a panoramic sightseeing tour of Ljubljana, including Prešeren Square and Tromostovje (Triple Bridge), Town Square with its baroque fountain, Town Hall and Ljubljana Castle. Free time to visit the castle if you want. Free afternoon for shopping. Overnight in Ljubljana.
Day 3: Novo Mesto - Celje - Rogaška Slatina
After breakfast, we will drive to Novo Mesto for a short stop first to the Otočec Castle and then to Celje, an old town known already in the Roman times. Walk through the old city centre and visit the Celje Regional Museum. The route will continue to Rogaška Slatina, famous with its mineral water. Free time to enjoy the mineral water of the resort. Overnight in Rogaška Slatina.
Day 4: Maribor - Jeruzalem - Ptuj
After breakfast we will drive to Maribor, the second largest city in Slovenia and the home of the world’s oldest grape-producing vine. Our next stop is Jeruzalem, the viticulture jewel of Štajerska. After that, continue to Ptuj, for sightseeing tour and visit to the Ptuj Castle. Afterwards, we will to Rogaška Slatina for overnight.
Day 5: Lake Bled
Breakfast. The tour continues with a visit to Lake Bled. We will visit the Bled Castle, which is located on a steep 139 m high cliff overlooking the lake. Free time. Overnight stay in Bled.
Day 6: Bohinj – Vogel – Savica Waterfall – Bled
After breakfast we will depart to Bohinj lake, largest lake in Slovenia and if the weather allows it, we can take the cable car to Vogel and see the mountains from another point. Visit to the Savica waterfall. Overnight back in Bled.
Day 7: Goriška Brda
After breakfast, we will head to Gorista Brda, known as Slovenia’s Tuscany. Passing by Kobarid and Most na Soči, we will make our way to Goriška Brda, to the village of Šmartno with its old walls and an abundance of stories about the wars between Venice and Habsburg dynasty in the 16th and 17th centuries. Overnight stay in Goriška Brda.
Day 8: Štanjel – Trieste – Piran – Portorož
After breakfast, we will continue to Trieste, but first we will make a short stop in Štanjel, famous with its beautiful Ferrari Garden and the castle it belongs to. After that we will have sightseeing in Trieste and in the town of Piran, also called “little Venice”. Walk through its narrow streets and beautiful squares up to the church of St. George. Afterwards, we will head to Portorož, where we will stay for the night.
Day 9: Lipica Stud Farm - Postojna Cave - Predjama Castle
After breakfast, we will head to Lipica Stud Farm, home of the Lipizzaner horse and Postojna Cave. We will continue with a tour of the Predjama Castle from the 12th century, mounted on a 123 m high cliff above the Lokva River. Overnight stay in Ljubljana.
Day 10: Ljubljana departure
Departure after breakfast. Transfer to the airport. End of our services.
