Itinerary - Explore the Balkans: Croatia and Serbia
Day 1: Zagreb
Arrival at Zagreb Airport. Meet and greet by your local guide. Transfer to the hotel, accommodation and orientation walk. Free evening. Overnight in Zagreb.
Day 2: Zagreb
After breakfast, we’ll have a Zagreb city tour including take a funicular, which connect the Gornji and Donji grad. At Upper Town (Gornji Grad), we’ll visit the St Mark’s Church with its striking roof and sculptures in the south portal. Drop in at the St. Étienne Cathedral, the stone gate and Kaptol Hill as well. Free time for shopping. Overnight in Zagreb.
Day 3: Zagreb – Varazdin
After breakfast, we’ll head to Varazdin, where we’ll spend all day exploring this beautiful city. We’ll have a city tour and will visit the most interesting places around, including Cathedral of the Assumption, Town Hall, Statue of Bishop Grgur Ninski, Franciscan Church and Monastery of St John the Baptist, Patačić-Puttar Palace and Traditional Crafts Square. Overnight in Varajdin.
Day 4: Varazdin – Osijek
After breakfast we will continue to Osijek, the fourth largest city in Croatia, located in the eastern Croatian region of Slavonia. We will have city tour, which include the main square, Trg Ante Starčevića, Tvrđa, the 18th century Baroque citadel, the promenade along the Drava ("promenada"), and the suspension pedestrian bridge toward Baranja and Museum of Slavonia. Free time. Overnight in Osijek.
Day 5: Osijek – Novi Sad
Breakfast. Today we will proceed to Novi Sad, the second largest city in Serbia. We will have a city tour including the historic neighbourhood of Stari Grad with its many monuments, museums, cafes, restaurants and shops. After that we will visit the Petrovaradin Fortress. Overnight in Novi Sad.
Day 6: Novi Sad – Belgrade
After breakfast we will head to the capital of Serbia, Belgrade. City tour of the white city, located at the confluence of the Sava and Danube rivers. You will visit Kalemegdan Fortress, Church of Saint Sava, which is one of the largest Orthodox churches in Europe, the geographical centre of the city - Knez Mihailova, Belgrade’s Bohemian Quarter – Skadarlija, Museum of Yugoslavia and the House of Flowers. Overnight in Belgrade.
Day 7: Belgrade – Sarajevo
Breakfast. After that we will proceed to Sarajevo. Sightseeing tour of Sarajevo, includes visit of the Bascarsija, the Gazi Husrev Mosque, the Old Orthodox Church of St Archangel’s Mikhail and Gabriel, the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Old Jewish Temple. Next we’ll continue with the Sarajevo War Tunnel Museum. Free time. Overnight in Sarajevo.
Day 8: Sarajevo departure
Free time after breakfast. Transfer to the airport. End of our services.
