Itinerary - Bulgaria Adventure Tour
Day 1: Sofia
Arrival at Sofia airport. Meet and greet by your personal guide. Check in hotel. After that we will have city tour, including Alexander Nevski Cathedral, the National Theatre, the Archaeological Museum, St.George Church, Boyana Church, Roman ruins and Medieval settlements. Rest of the day is free. Overnight in Sofia.
Day 2: Sofia - Belogradchik - Magura Cave
After breakfast, we will take an easy walk to the closest cave, situated near the hotel. In the cave you can see different rock formations – stalactites, stalagmite and even helictites. Then we will head to one of the eco trails, spending the day walking around nature. We will see the natural rock phenomenon, the Belogradchik fortress. Overnight in Belogradchik.
Day 3: Belogradchik - Vratsa
Breakfast. Today, we are going to visit Magurata cave – one of the best-preserved caves in Bulgaria. From there we will depart for Vratsa with a quick stop to Okolchitsa peak, where is monument in honor of the deed of the revolutionary Hristo Botev and his detachment, who died in 1876 for the liberation of Bulgaria from the Ottoman Dominion. City tour in Vratsa and visit to the Regional historical museum. Hotel check in and overnight.
Day 4: Vratsa – Iskar- Panega – Syeva Dupka – Lovech
Breakfast. After that we will continue our journey with a walk through the Geopark Iskar-Panega. The eco-trail follows the Panega River valley, which springs nearby and has an unusual blue-green saturated color. After that we will continue with the one of the most famous caves in Bulgaria, Syeva Dupka. Overnight in Lovech.
Day 5: Lovech - Emen Canyon – Veliko Turnovo
After breakfast we will visit the Bulgaria’s first ecological route, called the Negovanka Route. We will visit the Emen Canyon and its famous attraction, waterfall Momin Skok (Girls’ Leap). Continue with the old Bulgrian Capital, Veliko Turnovo. Free evening. Overnight.
Day 6: Veliko Turnovo
After breakfast we will have city tour including Tsarevets Fortress, Museum "Sarafkin House", Museum of Wax Figures and Samovodska charshya. Afternoon drive to Arbanassi village, an architectural-museum reserve. Visit of the beautiful churches, built during the period of the Ottoman period. After that return to Veliko Turnovo. Overnight.
Day 7: Veliko Turnovo – Varna
Breakfast. Transfer to Varna, third largest city in Bulgaria and first seaside resort in the country. We‘ll visit The Planetarium, The Naval Museum of Varna and the Retro museum. Free evening. Overnight.
Day 8: Varna
Early in the morning we will witness for the first time the massive flocks of gees, taking off at dawn, spreading over the field’s westwards. In the afternoon we will be checking the wetlands for other waterfowl and seabirds, waiting for the sunset, when the gees will start coming back.
Day 9: Varna – Burgas
After breakfast we will continue to Nessebar, where we will explore the old town. Free time for some sunbathing. In the afternoon we will depart for Burgas. Overnight in Burgas.
Days 10: Burgas
After breakfast we will have some birdwatching around Atanasovsko Lake. The never freezing shallow salt pans are traditional hotspots for watching waders and ducks in winter. Overnight in Burgas.
Day 11: Burgas – Pomorie – Burgas
After breakfast, we will visit the open-air healing mud bath near Burgas. We will stay there till noon and in the afternoon, we can visit the Pomorie. Time for a walk. Overnight back in Burgas.
Day 12: Burgas – Primorsko
After breakfast we will have a day tour to Primorsko for a visit to nearby Ropotamo reserve, where were found a deposit of Artemisia maritima .The Arkutino swamp and the rock formations “The lion head”, the “Joyful rock”, as well as the St. Roma island, also known as the Snake Island are also situated within the reservation borders. Overnight back in Burgas.
Day 13: Burgas – Plovdiv
Breakfast. After that we continue to Plovdiv for the tour of the Old Town, the Roman theatre and the emblematic Kapana district. Free evening. Overnight in Plovdiv.
Day 14: Plovdiv - Sofia
Breakfast. Transfer to Sofia airport. End of our services.
