Itinerary - Discover the beauty of Romania
Day 1: Bucharest
Arrival at the Bucharest airport. Meet and greet by your guide. Transfer to the hotel, accommodation and overnight.
Day 2: Bucharest
Breakfast. City tour of the Romanian Capital, including Free Press Square, Arch of Triumph, Victory Square and Avenue, Royal Palace, Revolution Square, a visit to the Village Museum, one of the most impressive open-air museums in Europe and the Palace of Parliament. Next, you will have free time in the Old Town. Overnight in Bucharest.
Day 3: Bucharest – Peles Castle – Bran Castle – Brasov
After breakfast we will head to Sinaia for a visit to the Peles Castle, the summer residence of the first king of Romania. Later, head to Bran Castle, known as “Dracula’s Castle”. After that continue to Brasov. Highlights of the city tour are the Black Church, the Council Square, the Hirsher House, the many old Saxon houses, and the White and Black Towers. Overnight in Brasov.
Day 4: Brasov – Biertan – Sighisoara
After breakfast, we will make a stop in Biertan, to visit the largest fortified church in Transylvania, built in the 16th century. Continue to Sighisoara. Upon arrival, city tour, including the Clock Tower Museum, Weapons Museum, the Torture Chamber, the Wooden Staircase, the Church on the Hill and the citadel. Overnight in Sighisoara.
Day 5: Sighisoara - Cluj Napoca - Turda Salt Mines – Targu Mures – Sighisoara
Early in the morning, we will head to the largest city in Transylvania, Cluj-Napoca, known as city of the arts. Upon arrival, city tour of Cluj, including St Michael’s Gothic Cathedral, the Banffy Palace, the former City Hall, and the peculiar Mirror Street. Next, we will visit the Turda Salt Mine and continue Târgu MureÈ™, a city recognized for its ethnic and cultural diversity. Free time to explore. In the late afternoon, head back to Sighisoara.
Day 6: Sighisoara – Praid – Red Lake – Iasi
Breakfast. The first stop for today is Praid, a village famous with its salt mines. There we will have the chance to be transported to the center of the mine with buses down a 1.2 km long tunnel. Our trip continue with the visit of the Red Lake. Later we will have city tour of Iasi, including the historical Stefan cel Mare street, the Vasile Alecsandri National Theatre, The Three Hierarchs Church, The Metropolitan Cathedral and The Union Square. Overnight in Iasi.
Day 7: Iasi – Suceava
Breakfast. Today we will visit the Voronet Monastery, famous with its blue color. Our next stop is the Moldovita Monastery, a religious site built with an open porch. Our last stop for today is the Sucevita monastery. Our final destination for the day is Suceava, a city which served as the capital of Moldavia for nearly 200 years. City tour including The Princely Court and the Mirauti Church. Overnight in Suceava.
Day 8: Suceava – Miercurea Ciuc
After breakfast we will head to Miercurea Ciuc. City tour including PetÅ‘fi Street, the main pedestrian street, the Mikó Castle, the Orthodox cathedral and the Court House. Overnight in Miercurea Ciuc.
Day 9: Miercurea Ciuc – Bucharest – Departure
Breakfast. Transfer to the Bucharest airport. End of our services.
