Itinerary - Tour to Travnik and Jajce
Day 01: Sarajevo arrival
Arrival at Sarajevo airport. Meet and greet by your guide. Short panoramic tour of the capital of Bosnia & Herzegovina. Accommodation in hotel. Overnight.
Day 02: Sarajevo - Travnik
Pick-up from hotel and depart to Travnik. Travnik city tour includes the Lasva Valley - a main trading route from Dalmatia, Serbia and beyond. Travnik, heralded as the European Istanbul, soon became known for its magnificent oriental architecture and bustling trade centers. Exploring central Bosnia's ancient fortresses, monasteries, mosques and highland villages is a journey into the very heart of the original Bosnian state and its long line of Slavic ancestors who have inhabited these lands since the 7th century. Continue to Travnik. Visit the Travnik Fortress and free time for lunch. Free afternoon for shopping and wandering in Travnik. Check-in in hotel. Overnight.
Day 03: Travnik - Jajce
After breakfast, we proceed to Jajce. Jajce has had more than its fair share of battles. The town changed hands several times before the independent Bosnian state was finally conquered when the Jajce fortress was the last one to fall to the Ottoman invaders in 1528. It seemed fitting after so many civilizations had settled and fought over this place that in 1943 the AVNOJ was signed and sealed here in one of the most historical moments of Bosnia's and Yugoslavia's history. The second session of the Anti-Fascist Council of the National Liberation of Yugoslavia on November 29 ratified that Bosnia and Herzegovina, as an equal federal unit, would enter the Democratic Federal Yugoslavia. These resolutions outlined the future democratic and federal organization of the region. The outskirts of town are blessed with an abundance of water, which is probably what made it so attractive and practical as a settlement in earlier times Jajce watterfall is under UNESCO protection. Late in the afternoon come back to Sarajevo. Check-in in hotel and overnight.
Day 04: Sarajevo departure
Breakfast. Free time till transfer to Sarajevo airport. End of our services.
